Hey now! Happy Monday! It is a great day to be alive! I hope you had the time to read my last post where I shared with you a tool…
Hey hey heyyyy!
How are you doing on this lovely Monday?
I am doing well. Thank you for asking!
Today I wanted to share with you some powerful information that will support you and I, in reaching our goals in 2021!
I have a lot of goals that I wrote down that I want to cross of my list, however, my most challenging goal to stick to at the moment are my fitness goals.
I enjoy working out, however, it is hard for me to stay consistent.
Because I am more comfortable sitting on my tail watching Dish Nation lol.
I don’t want this to be my story in 2021 and beyond.
I was listening to this book titled, “The Coaching Habit” by Daniel Mate and I realized that the reason why I don’t work out consistently is because I haven’t made a habit out of it.
A habit is an subconscious pattern of behavior that is formed through repeating an action on a regular basis.
After listening a little more, I realized that our habits are synonymous with our comfort zones.
Did you know that there was a study that was done that stated at LEAST 45% of our waking behavior is based off our habits.
We all have positive habits and negative habits that help or prevent us from reaching certain goals.
I have identified my habits that keep me stuck in my comfort zone, as it pertains to my health goals for 2021 and I am doing something about it.
I know for sure that there are goals that you want to reach in your life and there are negative habits that are preventing your from reaching your goals.
My goal is to empower you today with a strategy that will support you in improving your habits to reach the goals you struggle with in 2021.
Lets get into it!(more…)
How are ya?
I am doing pretty well.
Today I wanted to share with you a process that you can add to your life, that if you engage in this practice just once a year, you will have a greater chance in reaching the goals you set for yourself.
That process is creating a vision board.
I have been engaging in the process intentionally for the last 3 years and I can say that I have reached most goals that I set for myself.
I really believe there is power in the vision board process and I want to share that power with you.
I have a vision board process that I engage in every year that sets me on a powerful path regarding my goals.
I know that you have a vision inside of you. I still have visions inside of me.
By engaging in this process, you will bring your vision into fruition at a faster rate.
Because you took time to think about what it is that you want. Thinking is the first step to manifesting!
Here is my no fail vision board manifesting process!
If you engage in this process, I guarantee you will begin to see changes in your life!
Let’s get into it(more…)
Hey hey hey!!
This week is incredibly special to me. Why? Ya girl is turning 32 on Saturday. Yes, 32! I know I know, 32 where right. I said the same thing, but it is happening, and I am getting ready!
Ever since I could remember, my birthday has always been a big deal. My momma made it special and I like to uphold the tradition. Normally, I celebrate all month long.
Not so much the last few years, however, I have begun to implement a new birthday ritual in my life. I have been doing this since my 2018.
A few years prior I heard about this activity called “vision boards”.
I went to an event where we had to complete one and I loved it! I loved the fact that process allows me to be as creative as I want.
When I thought about what I wanted to include in my bday ritual, creating a vision board had to be included.
Last year for my birthday, I decided to add my love for numerology in my vision boarding process.
Before I design my vision board, I go online and research the energy behind my age.
I then print out the key terms and phrases that make my heart warm and place them on my vision board.
It really levels up the vision board process and is a confidence booster as well.(more…)
How to deal with competition in your business
Hey hey hey!
How are you? I am doing pretty well, thanks for asking!
I want to have with my aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners out there.
It was sparked by a conversation I had last week with one of my clients.
She has been in business for a while. She has a committed clientele who values her work and she now is in a position where she is able to offer better quality to her customers, due to all the support she has been receiving!
As I am listening to her share her story, I am like, “Okay. What is the problem?”
She stated that she is now noticing that other people want to start their own business.
The same business that she has spent years developing.
Not only do they want to start their own business but, many people are coming to her for advice and she doesn’t feel comfortable sharing the information that she had to learn on her own.
Being as though she is from a small city, she does not know how to treat the competition when they come to her for advice on how to start their business.
Hearing her story made me think back and see if I ever had this feeling in me.
And yup. I sure did!
I remember when I first opened up my mobile food cart.
I was the only Black owned mobile food cart owner in the City of Wilmington.(more…)
As some of you may know, I am preparing for Year 4 of The Stand, my mobile food cart business.
It hasn’t been the easiest for years either.
Let me give you a quick recap.
Year 1: I spent all my tax money on my mobile food cart. I got fired 2 weeks later from my job and ended up making $10,000 in less than 90 days. I thought hit the jack pot. I made my money back and then some.
Year 2: I got a job to sustain me through the winter months. My plan was to work both. The Stand and run my program at the community center. That did not go according to plan. I went out a few times, but all my time and effort went to developing and running the program. The money was good, for the most part and I was content. I did not have to hustle as hard. I enjoyed that but I did miss The Stand and the community missed me.
Year 3: I quit my job. I loved it, but I felt very much so used (in the words of my little sister lol). After applying for the manager position and being told that I could not get it because they didn’t know what I was managing after I developed and ran the whole program for a year I was confused and I quit. I quit November 2019 and was planning to have my most lucrative year with The Stand yet, starting May 2020. However, March 2020 Corona hit. Crazy right? If I would have stayed at my job a little longer I would have been able to collect unemployment smh lol.
Anyway, my plans changed. My plan was to go out at least 5 times a day starting May. With Corona in the community I wasn’t comfortable going out every day. I needed more information.(more…)
Hey now! I am giving it another try, I am taking my butt to therapy……AGAIN! I tried going in 2019, however, it did not work out. I attended about 3-4…
I have been putting a lot of thought into this lately. I see a lot of people who portray that they are in business. However, what I find is that being in business is about more than having and selling a product or service.
Yes I said what I said.
Having a service that sells and or being able to sell any product are both great qualities and are crucial in business but it is not everything you need.
And if you have a product that sells but don’t have other parts of your business in order, you WILL fail.
In today’s article I am sharing with you , I have found to be key factors in having a successful service based business. I am speaking as a consumer and a business owner.
Lets get into it(more…)
Happy New Year!
I thought I would have said that sooner, but you would not believe what I experienced the first week of the New Year.
First, for the last 5 years on January 4, I take a moment of silence for my grandfather who I lost in 2015 due to pancreatic cancer.
This year I woke up on the 4th determined to have a great day and not mourn my grandfather but reflect on the good times.
I was having an amazing day until I got the phone call I will never forget.
Around 7pm that night.
I was awoken out my sleep and told that one of my favorite people had passed away.
It was so unreal because I was just on the phone with him less than 48 hours from the day he passed away.
Not only that, but he died the same day that his father, my grandfather, passed away.
Yea it was a lot to deal with.
This was the greatest lost that I had dealt with in my life!
When I talked to him on Saturday the 2nd day of January of this year, he was laughing, and he sounded healthy.
We had one of the best conversations ever.
It is so crazy because I was not going to answer the phone because I had just talked to him a couple days before, but he had called me twice in a row, and when someone calls me twice in a row, I believe its an emergency.
He did not want nothing he just wanted talk lol. That was my uncle!
I am going to miss my uncle!
Anyways, as I was going through this mourning period.
I recognized my community, virtual and reality, was grieving and mourning as well. A lot of people I know are dealing with their own loss.
Today I will share with you some tips that I am using that is helping me get over the pain. Hopefully, these tips can help you too!
Let’s get into it(more…)
So you want to start a business?
It sounds cliché but a well thought out “Why?” determines whether you will have a profitable business or not.
Let me explain what I mean.
I have found that there are 3 types of business people in this world
- Those who are motivated by their purpose
- Those who are motivated by money
- Those who are not motivated at all
If you fall under the category of the unmotivated.
You probably aren’t reading this post right now, so I won’t spend much time here.
But what I will say is, if you are around an unmotivated adult, you can’t change them, but you can expose them to certain situations and experiences, if they are open to them, great. If not, move on.
If you are motivated by money. That’s cool.
However, I have found that people who are only motivated by money will either(more…)
