How to guarantee SUCCESS in your service based business!

I have been putting a lot of thought into this lately. I see a lot of people who portray that they are in business. However, what I find is that being in business is about more than having and selling a product or service.

Yes I said what I said.

Having a service that sells and or being able to sell any product are both great qualities and are crucial in business but it is not everything you need.

And if you have a product that sells but don’t have other parts of your business in order, you WILL fail.

In today’s article I am sharing with you , I have found to be key factors in having a successful service based business. I am speaking as a consumer and a business owner.

Lets get into it

Gaining Clarity: A Boss Experience

Last week, I sat down and I got CLEAR.

I got clear on the vision and the mission that I have for my life.

I initially decided to discuss that topic because I wanted to support my tribe, you, in getting clear on your personal life’s mission and having a productive year and life.

A lot of people were coming to me saying that they were confused and didn’t know what direction they should go.

After completing the exercise for myself, I gained even more clarity on my purpose and how I want to spend my days in my old age.

If you have not completed the previous exercises, I encourage you to do so right away.

This week, I have spent a lot of time thinking about what I want my 2021 to look like.

I asked myself,

“What am I going to do in 2021 to help me fulfill my mission?”

“What am I going to do in 2021 to get me closer to the life that envision for myself?”

Asking myself those questions helped me to put a lot of things in perspective.

5 Questions to Support You in Identifying Your Life’s Purpose

11.23

Happy Monday!

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to host a “Breakfast and Visions” with a group of dope Black entrepreneurs and community leaders from the city of Wilmington, De.

I love hosting those type of events because it gives me the opportunity to support dope people in getting clear about what it is that they want to accomplish in their life and in their business.

I love it!

The conversations that we had during our transformational session, is what inspired this week’s blog post.

I know most of you who read my content are ready to live life on your own terms.

You want to do what you want, when you want.

You want to travel the world, start businesses, give back to your community, and live in peace!

I feel you.

I am with you.

For you to obtain the lifestyle you want, it is important for you to get clear on your Personal Mission Statement .

I am sure if you have worked for any organization, you have heard of a mission statement. It the statement that describes what the organization is about that you are associated with.

Your Personal Mission Statement is bigger than that.

Getting clear on your Personal Mission Statement will support you in making decisions in your life that align with your purpose and core values.

What is a Personal Mission Statement?

Your Personal Mission Statement describes 3 things

  1. who you are
  2. what you do
  3. why you do it

Your Personal Mission Statement helps you to identify your purpose in your life!

Here are 5 questions that you can ask yourself to support you in developing your Personal Mission Statement:

  1. What are my core values?
  2. Who do I serve?
  3. How do I make their lives better?
  4. What do I want to accomplish in my life?
  5. What am I passionate about?

Please remember when developing your Personal Mission Statement:

  • You must write It down
  • It should be no more than 2 sentences.
  • This is the first step in manifesting the life you desire
  • Share your vision with others

Boss Mom: Find Your Tribe of Support.

Hey hey!

Happy Wednesday!

It’s a great day to be your own BOSS!

I normally say it is a great day to be alive, but I switched it up today lol.

Any who, let’s get into it

I know you have dreams of being of your own boss.

You want to spend more time with your family, be in control of your own time, and live life on your own terms.

I get it.

I was there.

The thing is tho’.

For this to happen to you

You cannot do it by yourself.

You need a support system.

In order for me to work long hours, attend business and personal development conferences, travel for leisure, engage in self-care practices, or do whatever else I have and want to do.

I have to have help.

If I didn’t I would go crazy.

Now I understand that everybody isn’t in the perfect situation.

I get it.

But if you are a mom with big dreams, goals, and aspirations.

It is imperative that you find a way to get the support that you need.

Mentally, Physically, & Spiritually.

Don’t allow your everyday task to get in the way of you bringing your BMD (before mom days) dreams into fruition.

Being an involved MOM is a lot.

Adding employee, spouse, entrepreneur and whatever else we decide to do with our time can take a person out!

You have to create an environment where you are supported, so that you can have a chance at achieving the success you want.

Support comes in many ways.

You may need someone to watch your children while you handle your business.

You may need support in learning skills to help elevate you in your career/business.

You may need support with learning investment strategies.

You may need support with getting your thoughts together and changing your habits.

You need support. You can’t grow and elevate by yourself

Think about your life right now.

What are you struggling with in life right now?

This is a great start in figuring out where you currently need to be supported the most.

The Benefits of “Niching Down” in Your Business

Hey Boss Friend,

It has been a minute since I actually sat down and wrote you!

I have been putting so much time into developing other parts of this brand that I have not been able to do what I love the most.

And that is write.

The last couple of weeks have been enlightening and I am making some big decisions regarding my brand and my voice.

There will be some revamps coming soon to my website and I am truly excited about my present and especially for 2021.

Here is a heads up!

Beginning today, you will begin to see my content change!

I finally decided to do something that I have been resisting for 2 years and that is choosing a “niche”.

If you have been following me for a while, you know that this has been a real struggle for me.

I struggle because I do not want to leave anyone out.

However, I am pass that!

Since I have been seriously focusing only on this business for the last couple of months, I have realized that I will be burnt out if I don’t focus on one group of people to develop and build up.

As I began to think about who and what I want to focus on, I began to think about me and my life and what would be “easy”.

When I say “easy” I don’t mean without challenge, but “easy” to incorporate with my lifestyle.

I want my brand to represent me fully and I do not want to do or be too much outside of myself to attract my tribe.

Because I am building a virtual business, I realize that I have to create content that speaks to a particular group of people.

Sombody.

There are 7.59 billion people in the world.

There are 3.81 billion people on social media.

Me trying to speak to everyone just isn’t effective for what it is I want to achieve in this online space.

After much thought and reflection.

Here is who I chose

MOMS

Yes MOMS

It makes perfect sense.

As a mom myself, with a special needs child, a homeschool teacher to two, and a girlfriend, founder of 2 businesses, times get tough.

I want to speak more to my experience as that.

I want to create a space where I can share my journey regarding my personal life, relationship(s), parenting, entrepreneurship, and a little bit of Tarot lol.

Now that I know who and what I am going to focus on.

Moving forward when I go live, I know exactly who I am speaking to.

When I write my blog, I know exactly who I want to read my content.

I am currently working on an online course and “niching down” has helped me to find my voice as it pertains creating that.

I have truly saw the value in “niching down” so far.

Because some of you have been rocking with me for a while, I wanted to make this announcement, that I am evolving.

I love you all and stay true

To you!

How Black Parents Can Raise Successful Black Children

Hey Developers!

Today I wanted to share a messagae specifically for Black parents.

Last week in Wilmington, Delaware there was a host of shootings.

Now if you are familiar with Wilmington, De, you are not surprised by this news.

However, what was most surprising, was the fact that all the shootings that occurred involved teenagers. One shooting ended with a 13 year old losing his life to gun violence. The baby was only 13. I don’t care what he was into, he was 13.

In 2017, there was a article written that stated,

“Wilmington, De leads US in teen shootings.”

I have Black children. I work with Black youth. When I hear statistics and see articles written on subjects regarding teen violence, it makes me cringe. It really makes me sick to my stomach.

As I sat back and thought of ways I can make a difference, my little voice said to me,

“Antinette, it starts in the home.”

So I meditated on a word that I could share with the parents of Black children, that can support us all in saving and ensuring that our children have long lives!

I actually came up with 6 words that will support US in saving OUR children!

  • Accountability

We as parents have to be accountable for our parenting, or lack there of. We have to be accountable for our own personal growth and development. If we are not growing mentally and spiritually as parents, neither will our children. We have to be accountable for the content and experiences that we expose our children to. We have to be accountable for our poverty. If we want our children to have a chance, we have to be accountable for the situation that we are in. Understand the parts that we play and did not play in the situation, and then we have to develop a plan that supports our family unit in moving forward successfully!

  • Resilience

Being resilient means that you are able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions. Black parents, Black people as a whole are resilient beings. Since our existence into what is known as the USA, we have been placed in the most gruesome and horrific situations, but still we rise. Still we continue to fight and live to see another day. If you are reading this right now, I need you to understand that you have the power to overcome any situation that you are in. It will require work but your can overcome.

  • Expand Pass Your Comfort Zone

Some of us are too comfortable. Comfortable with living paycheck to paycheck. Comfortable with not taking steps toward that thing you want to accomplish  deep down on the inside. Why? Because you are comfortable with not putting in the work required. Your dreams require too much work and you would rather be comfortable. Well let me tell you something about comfort zones. Nothing great ever grows in comfort zones. It is time to expand pass your comfort zone for the sake of your child(ren)!

  • Commitment

We as Black parents have to be committed. We have to be committed to growth and also have to have a strong commitment to disrupting the system.  There is a system in place that was designed to prevent Black people from surviving and thriving in America. That is facts. However, if you are using the system as an excuse to not make any moves, to not go after what you say it is that you want, You need to reevaluate YOU!

  • Village

Black parents, young and old, it takes a village. I am so thankful for my village. Without my village I wouldn’t be to raise my kids with a clear mental state that I am in, and my kids still question my sanity at times. The point is, I talk to many women who say that they are stressed and have no help with their kids. That is because we got rid of the village. Even if you come from a background where you are disconnected with your original parents and family, at some point, we all have the ability to create an environment that is conducive to our happiness and success. It starts with your village.

  • Consequences

Some call it consequences. I say put a lil’ fear in them. Whatever your strategy. Implement something that works for the child that you are raising. I share a funny story in the video below about consequences, and how different forms work in my family.

In order for us to save our children, we as Black parents have to save ourselves!

Until next time….
